About AeroViva Labs

Designing resilient agricultural systems for a changing climate.

Grounded in real-world constraints, tested in extreme environments.

Designed for where systems fail — not where they succeed.

AeroViva Labs is an agri-tech initiative focused on designing resilient, resource-efficient agricultural systems for environments where traditional farming is increasingly unviable.

Rural regions are increasingly affected by a combination of environmental, infrastructural, and economic pressures — with climate change intensifying existing vulnerabilities. Water scarcity, extreme weather, and limited infrastructure are placing growing strain on already fragile food systems.

At the same time, a significant gap remains between available agricultural technologies and the contexts in which they are most needed. Systems are often too complex, too costly, or insufficiently adapted to operate under real-world constraints — where reliability matters most.

AeroViva Labs operates a 10-hectare pilot site in rural Gran Canaria, where environmental and infrastructural constraints provide a natural stress test for agricultural systems.

The site is characterized by arid conditions, strong winds, and episodic calima events, alongside the absence of running infrastructure. Water availability is extremely constrained, with approximately 9,000 liters available every 21 days in winter and only 3,000 liters in summer, making conventional farming nearly impossible.

These conditions are not limitations, but design parameters — shaping systems that are adaptable, efficient, and robust under constraint.

Mission

To develop practical, technology-enabled agricultural systems that improve water efficiency and resilience in climate-vulnerable regions.

Vision

To contribute to more adaptive and equitable food systems by enabling scalable, accessible approaches to agriculture in regions most affected by climate change.
